The Sensible Sentencing Trust is waiting to hear from a man claiming to be an accessory to the killing of Hawkes Bay farmer Jack Nicholas.
The man, who contacted the trust last month, said he wanted $50,000 and immunity from prosecution for information about the death of Mr Nicholas, 71, who was shot at Puketitiri last August.
The man also wanted a story published in the Weekend Herald on Saturday letting him know whether his demands would be met.
Trust spokesman Garth McVicar told NZPA yesterday that after the publication of an article, he hoped the man would make contact again.
