Truck's concrete load holds up commuters

A truck dropped a large concrete column onto the road in west Auckland this morning, causing commuter chaos.

Police say the vehicle hit a traffic island in Henderson and a crane is being used to try to clear the blockage.

The truck was blocking three lanes of traffic at the intersection of Edmonton Road and Great North Road.
