Pahiatua police are seeking help from the public to identify rock throwers who shattered a truck's windscreen.
The officer in charge of the Pahiatua police, Acting Sergeant Karl Williams, said a southbound truck was leaving the township on Monday when it had to slow down on SH2 at about 12.30pm, because road signage had been placed across the road. The signage had been pulled out of the ground.
"As the truck slowed down, an unknown number of offenders have thrown rocks at it," Mr Williams said. "As a result, one of the rocks went through the front windscreen. Thankfully, the driver did not sustain any injuries."
While it was the first such incident reported to police this year, a number of similar acts had occurred late last year.
"If anyone has any information about the rock throwers' identities, please contact the Pahiatua Police," said Mr Williams.
