Emergency services were this morning working out how to retrieve an 18-wheeler truck which was left partially hanging over a cliff south of Murchison, in the Nelson region, late last night.
Both people in the truck were unhurt.
The truck, laden with fruit and vegetables, rolled and was left hanging over the edge of the cliff with an estimated 60m drop into a river below.
Inspector Doug Parker said police, ambulance and the fire service had responded to the crash which happened on State Highway 65 about 40km south of Murchison.
