A Christchurch truck driver has been remanded on bail following a fatal crash with a cyclist last year.
David Connell, 50, has been charged with careless driving causing death after he allegedly turned into the path of a cyclist last September, at the intersection of Waterloo and Carmen Road.
The cyclist Ming-Chih Hsieh died at the scene after being crushed under the truck and trailer.
The 33-year-old tourist was travelling through New Zealand when he was killed.
David Connell has been held on a registrars' remand in order to apply for legal aid and will reappear in two weeks time.
