A truck driver has been flown to hospital after his vehicle collided with a bank in Bay of Plenty this morning.
The driver was helicoptered to hospital in a serious condition with rib injuries after the incident on State Highway 35 in Te Kaha, shortly after 5am.
The truck veered off "a straight bit of road" and hit a dirt bank, Inspector Willie Taylor said.
The other three people on board were not injured but were in "a bit of shock", Mr Taylor said.
