The driver of a truck, a woman in her 60s, is dead after a crash in Lichfield.
Police were called to the crash involving three cars and two trucks at a road works site at 2.15pm today.
State Highway 1 is still closed between Wiltsdown Rd and Ngatira Rd as heavy haulage recovery vehicles are working at the scene. The road will be closed for at least another hour.
Police said the name of the woman should be released tomorrow. Police have extended their sympathies to her family and friends.
Police asked that drivers in the area slow down, mind their following distances and drive to the conditions.
