Rotorua truck driver Anthony Paul Doyle today pleaded guilty to the execution-style killing of a Bay of Plenty couple.
Doyle, 40, changed his plea to guilty at a hearing in the High Court at Rotorua. He was convicted and remanded in custody for sentence in October.
He had been committed to trial on charges of murdering Mikaere Douglas O'Sullivan, 42, and Toni-Anne Nathan, 39, last October 31.
They had both been shot dead in a carpark under the Wairoa Bridge at Te Puna, north of Tauranga.
Doyle had initially pleaded not guilty through his lawyer, Paul Mabey, QC, who conceded there was a prima facie case to answer.
