A truck carrying LPG cylinders has crashed on a Bay of Plenty highway, near Whakamarama, this afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said police were called to State Highway 2, near Apata Station Rd, at 12.35pm after a truck went off the road.
"The driver is fine," the spokeswoman said. "It looks like he was arranging with the company to get the truck back on the road."
A reporter at the scene said one lane was blocked to west-bound traffic at the section of State Highway 2 and Apata Station Rd. The road had since been reopened.
A police officer at the scene said the truck was carrying LPG cylinders but most of them were empty.
