Truck crash turns off power in Manurewa

Power is out in some parts of Manurewa after a truck crashed into some powerlines.

A police spokesman said emergency services were called shortly after 9.30am.

"A truck has crashed on Halver Road and has brought down some powerlines. Traffic lights are affected in the area and the road is currently closed."

Police said no other vehicles were involved and no injuries had been reported.

Fire and Emergency was also in attendance and Vector has been advised.

Traffic lights on Great South Rd and Hill Rd in Manurewa were out of order.

An Auckland Transport spokesperson advised drivers to follow the give-way rules and take extra care.

Power also went out throughout Manurewa at 9.24am and Vector was working to resolve the issue.
