KEY POINTS:
The Lindis Pass is closed after a truck and trailer unit rolled early today, injuring the driver and spilling chemicals across the road.
The truck, transporting hazardous goods which are still being identified, crashed 10km south of the summit about 3.15am.
The pass has been closed to all traffic and is not expected to reopen before midday while emergency services clean up the spill.
The truck driver has been taken to Oamaru hospital with moderate injuries.
