A crash involving a car and a truck in the northbound lanes of the southern motorway at Orams Road is causing significant delays.
Three people were initially trapped and traffic has been restricted to one lane as emergency services deal with the scene. None of the injuries are thought to be life-threatening.
It is not envisaged that a total closure will be required but it will take at least another hour for vehicles to be cleared and the backlog to ease.
Motorists are advised to take other routes if possible and to exercise patience if stuck in the queue. Southbound traffic is also being affected as motorists slow to look at the scene and those driving south are asked to take particular care to avoid secondary crashes.
