Over 200 couples have found a way to warm up despite the chilly weather in Auckland this weekend.
They are all taking part in the national Ballroom and Latin American dance championships at Kohimarama's ASB Stadium.
A mixture of professional and amateur couples have entered in the various grades, including some from overseas. Dancing continues all day today through to 10pm.
The evening sessions feature the grand finals.
"For those who enjoyed TVNZ's Dancing With the Stars, it's a great weekend of glamorous glitter and fancy footwork", said organisers.
Rising stars Mathew Nicholson and Jenna Spyve of Auckland were among the competitors in the NZ Resident ballroom division, which was won by Tim Mullayanov and Yulia Mallayanova of Christchurch.
