Three Wairarapa women will be looking to walk 100km in under 36 hours as part of the Oxfam Challenge in Taupo on April 9 and 10.
Brenda Farley and Corinna Carew of Eketahuna and Ali Lang of Carterton have signed up for the event with the intent of raising $2000 for Oxfam, an organisation which conducts charity work all over the world.
The trio admit while some people have questioned their sanity at tackling such an imposing ordeal, they were inspired by the idea of successfully completing such a significant challenge while raising money for a worthwhile charity.
They have all been training hard since Christmas and will have a support team of six people on hand at Taupo.
