KEY POINTS:
Police are looking for three men armed with a large machete who attempted to rob a Hastings liquor store last night.
Police said today one man entered the Flaxmere Liquor store and threatened the shop assistant with the machete, demanding money while two others kept watch outside.
However, all three ran off empty-handed when challenged by the three liquor storeowners and an elderly relative.
