Trio attacked by seven in Bay of Plenty

Three people were attacked by seven armed offenders in Putaruru, in the Bay of Plenty, early this morning, police said today.

John Fraser from police communications said the victims were set upon by offenders armed with an axe and a golf club.

Police are describing the attack as a serious assault as one male victim received a broken leg, one female was left with concussion, and another male received head injuries.

Tokoroa CIB are investigating the incident.
