Three teenagers accused of being involved in running down a teenaged Tokoroa boy have today changed their pleas to guilty in the High Court at Rotorua.
When their trial began on Monday they had denied a charge of being parties to intentionally injuring Seth Tera, then 15, at Tokoroa on September 12 last year.
Justice Graham Lang remanded Sean Hemi Follas, 20, a farm manager of Waotu, near Putaruru, Harley David Robertson , 19, farmhand, of Lake Matahina in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, and Patrick Liam Wilson, also 19, of Tumunui, south of Rotorua, for sentencing on February 4.
Crown prosecutor Fletcher Pilditch described the men's offending as a "serious criminal event" rather than an accident.
A fourth offender, Dion Hugh Bolt, 19, of Rotorua, earlier pleaded guilty to attempted to murder Seth and was sentenced to seven years nine months' prison.
