Tributes are flowing for the 2-year-old who died in a tragic accident in a Christchurch stadium carpark.
Emergency services were called to Aranui's Cowles Stadium where Isaiah Oxley was hit by a van last Friday night.
A family member wrote on his Facebook page, "In a safe place now xx miss u so much", while another wrote, " Sending lots of love and prayers to your whanau..."
The toddler was pinned between a van and a low fence. The van driver who reversed into the toddler thought his vehicle was in neutral when he turned on the engine, Fairfax reported.
Canterbury district road policing manager Inspector Al Stewart told Fairfax a van and a car driven by the child's mother, Minetta Oxley, had reversed into parks next to each other.
