A man who died after a pruning accident at home yesterday was a popular friend and beloved grandfather, his wife says.
Bert Chaney's wife, Elaine, said her husband, 75, was a well-liked man who had lived in Stokes Valley for 48 years.
"He was very popular with everybody."

said her husband had lots of friends in the neighbourhood.
He fell from a ngaio tree he was pruning at home.
