A trial date has been set for a former police officer accused of threatening to kill the Prime Minister.
Frank Miessen will go on trial in the High Court in Christchurch High Court on Monday.
He faces a raft of charges including verbally threatening to kill Helen Clark.
Police visited Miessen's Akaroa farm last July following a tip-off.
When spoken to by officers, Miessen is alleged to have threatened to go to Waimate where the Prime Minister was to attend 150th anniversary commemorations, and strangle her.
The case is expected to last two to three days.
