A man who allegedly used a quad bike as a weapon against his partner has elected trial by jury.
Tuturumuri man Wiremu (Mita) Hikairo Stanley Frank Dawson, 38, appeared in Masterton District Court on Thursday on one charge of male assaults female, one charge of assault with a quad bike and one charge of breaching a protection order on September 14 in Martinborough.
Through his lawyer, James Elliott, Dawson entered not guilty pleas on all three charges and elected to be tried by jury.
Judge Chris Tuohy remanded Dawson in custody until October 22.
