The trial of a man accused of drugging and raping a woman is under way at Christchurch District Court.
Crown prosecutor Andrew McRae says the man, who has name suppression, raped the woman in Greymouth some time between February and April in 2014.
He told jurors the man and woman often shared methamphetamine together, but on this occasion, the man drugged her with something else.
He then took advantage of the fatigued state the woman was in due to that drug and raped her, the Crown alleged.
Defence counsel Marcus Zintl says the woman either hallucinated the attack, has a false memory of it, or simply made it up.
