Trespasser disrupts Auckland train services

There are reports a trespasser is on the tracks and disrupting morning train services on Auckland's western line.

Auckland Transport has warned commuters of delays, but blamed "an earlier train fault" for the disruption at the Glen Eden station.

However, frustrated train passengers posted on social media that a person was responsible for the delays.

Tim Redmond tweeted: "A "passenger incident" at Glen Eden. Eastbound trains before Glen Eden are at a standstill."

SM Morgan said: "Up for a swim at 6, now been at station for 20min - trespasser at Glen Eden, all trains to Britomart delayed. Could have been sleeping!!!"

Gavin Lees also tweeted: "New train stuck in Glen Eden. Apparently, due to a trespasser. #ohdear #catchingthebus"

Others blamed the introduction electric trains, which were rolled out across the Auckland train network yesterday.

kcrockshi tweeted: "2nd day on # electric train. Stopped on road crossing at Glen Eden awaiting restart."

Rebecca Slight said: "Standing at Glen Eden looking at the train sitting across the level crossing. Gee I love the electric trains - not!"

While Vanessa Wills posted: "'Good morning. A train has been disabled at Glen Eden. Expect cancellations.' F***ing wonderful."

Also in a Twitter post, Auckland Transport said: "Expect delays on the Western line after an earlier train fault at Glen Eden, a shuttle bus is operating between Swanson and Henderson."
