"I'm impressed with Wairarapa and the hospitality. The farmers have just been fantastic," she said.
"We've gone quite high up on the ranges to get the views."
She said the trekkers were tired but enjoying themselves.
"They're just rapt - the weather makes a huge difference," she said.
"I'm in awe of Wairarapa for putting on this beautiful weather for us."
Linda Macrae, who owns the farm the trekkers stopped at yesterday, said she had been approached by the organisers and was more than happy to help out.
"It's been awesome seeing other people enjoying our environment," she said.
Steve Old, of Otaki, founded the trek in 2006 after his mother died from multiple sclerosis.
He was on course yesterday as a marshall and continues to be a trustee.
"It's flowing quite nicely," he said. "Everyone's enjoying themselves."
Mr Old said they were impressed by the generosity of farmers who had let them trek through the land and set up camp.
The trek will have travelled through Alfredton, Bideford, Wainuioru, Gladstone, Martinborough and Dyerville before it finishes at Lake Ferry.
