A driver was trapped in his truck for a short time today after heavy winds blew a large tree branch on to his vehicle.
The incident happened on Old Taupo Road near Rotorua about 3pm.
The Fire Service cut the man free and the branch took about half an hour
to move, Sergeant Paul Kirkby said.
"The branch has been moved, the road cleared and the tree is now being looked at by council to see if that should go," Mr Kirkby said.
The driver was taken to Rotorua Hospital with minor injuries to his arm.
