Train passengers arriving at Britomart this morning can expect handouts of sweet treats after helping to boost annual patronage on the Auckland rail network to a record six million trips.
That result, to the end of November, compares with little more than two million trips taken in 2002. Auckland Regional Transport Authority chief executive Fergus Gammie said the plan was "a small seasonal thank you" to commuters.
