KEY POINTS:
Transit has installed a sign to advise drivers of travel times when heading to the Coromandel Peninsula over the Christmas holidays.
The sign will display regular updates of the time to travel via Kopu Bridge and State Highways 2 and 26.
Engineer Alan Burkett says the Kopu Bridge is a traditional bottleneck and the signage will offer motorists a longer, but quicker route when the bridge is backed up.
