Two trampers have been airlifted out of a remote hut southeast of Taihape after a suspected case of food poisoning.
The two women suffering from dehydration and exhaustion were flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital by the Lowe Corporation rescue helicopter at 7pm yesterday..
They were picked up from the Ruahine Corner Hut , four days' walk from Rangitane Rd, east of Mangaweka.
The rescue came just an hour after the Lowe helicopter airlifted another woman to Hawke's Bay Hospital after she fell from a horse and dislocated her ankle at Te Haroto on the Napier- Taupo road.
