KEY POINTS:
A lone South African tramper who lost his way in cold and wet conditions in the bush-clad Tangihua Range west of Whangarei on Saturday was found and brought out by search and rescue teams yesterday morning.
Sergeant Dean Walford said the man used his cellphone to call police and was found safe and well, but cold and hungry, about 2km from Tangihua Lodge.
