Britomart Train Station has been evacuated after a bomb scare this morning.
KiwiRail has stopped trains at Newmarket while the station is searched.
KiwiRail spokesman Kevin Ramshaw said trains have been stopped to "wait for the all clear".
Auckland Regional Transport Authority spokeswoman Sharon Hunter said alternative transport is being arranged for commuters.
She said it was not clear where the threatening call was made to and ARTA is waiting for an update.
Police Inspector Cornelius Kluessien said police are at Britomart Station.
"They're just trying to determine what likelihood there is of the scare being real," Mr Kluessien said.
