He, his wife Bonnie and three relatives were among those who decided to travel to Eden Park by car, park on a suburban street and take a 20-minute walk to the stadium.
"[I] parked 200 metres east of Dominion Rd and after the game was in Newmarket in 30 minutes."
Mrs Albrecht said it was what the family - who are big rugby fans - had been doing for years. "We go to Eden Park a lot and that's what we do. We don't mind walking and it was perfect.
"We left the house at 5.45pm, parked, walked for about half-an-hour and got to the park at 6.45pm."
The next big game at Eden Park is tomorrow, when Australia take on Ireland at 8.30pm.
There will be road closures and restricted access to most streets around the stadium, but there are still many streets open that will be close enough to park and walk to the game.
It will take only about 10 to 15 minutes to walk from the nearest streets that have unrestricted parking.
Further down Dominion Rd are other side streets that are also only about 15 to 20 minutes' walk away.
Other options include a small part of Bond St, parts of New North Rd and smaller streets, which will give you a 20- to 30-minute walk.
Mt Eden Rd and its neighbouring streets might be your pick, and will be about 30 minutes' walk.
Automobile Association spokesman Simon Lambourne said driving to the game was definitely a great option, but he also encouraged people to think about using more than one form of transport.
"You could drive in, park your car in one of the surrounding suburbs and then bus into Eden Park.
"Some people might want to ferry from Devonport and walk or bus. The key is for people to recognise that there are many forms of transport - train, bus, drive, walk, even cycle. That's what happened on Friday, everyone went for the trains."
Tomorrow's match kick-off is at 8.30pm. Gates open at 6.30pm and so parking restrictions will apply from 3.30pm, while road closures will apply from 5.30pm.
