After winning two awards for being top-notch trainee providers for adult job seekers, staff at the Wairarapa Resource Centre say it confirms just how well they are doing their job, proving they are on the right track.
The centre won two awards in the Adult and Community Education Providers of the Wairarapa awards held in the Frank Cody Lounge Thursday night. They walked away with a training award and the supreme award for being an Innovative Training Provider in Wairarapa.
Centre manager Trudie Jones said it proved they were doing the right thing.
"It's just brilliant. It just shows how well we are doing with getting people ready for jobs," she said. "It's a wonderful achievement for our staff, shows they are doing their job well."
Currently the centre has more than 20 trainees either working in the King St centre or on the ice cream truck, learning about stocking, customer service and strong work ethics. In the past 18 months they have placed more than 20 trainees into jobs as well.
