Commuters are facing delays as they head home from Auckland's Lantern Festival, with one person describing the wait for trains as "carnage".
There was a long line at Grafton railway station, near the Domain where the festival is being held, as scores of people waited to catch trains.
One person shared a photo on Twitter of a crowd of people waiting to board a train with the caption "carnage at Grafton station".
An Auckland Transport (AT) spokesman said while they had not had any complaints about delays, industrial action being taken by Rail and Maritime Transport Union meant they were unable to put on special event trains currently.
