KEY POINTS:
Masterton police tonight named the woman killed when her car was hit a commuter train on a Featherston crossing yesterday.
She was Joanne Christina Boomert, 50, of Masterton.
The accident occurred at "Speedy's Crossing" on Western Lake Road, south of Featherston just before 7pm.
Ms Boomert was alone in the car, which was hit by a Tranz Metro passenger train carrying 190 passengers heading from Wellington to Masterton. No one on board was hurt.
