A stag party reveller has fallen down a 50m cliff to his death in the Bay of Islands.
The man, believed to be in his late 20s, was dead when paramedics got to him just before midnight on Saturday, a St John Ambulance spokesman said.
The man fell from the branch of a tree growing out horizontally over the edge of a cliff at the northern end of Tapeka Point, north of Russell, Senior Sergeant Peter Robinson of Kerikeri police told the Stuff website.
The man's death is not being treated as suspicious.
