Traffic is heavy after a two-car crash on Auckland's Southern Motorway this morning.
The crashed happened just after 10.30am on the southbound side of the motorway between Ellerslie and Mt Wellington.
Police northern communications spokesman inspector Ian Brooker said two cars were involved in the crash and there had been earlier reports of a car being flipped.
Fire Service northern communications shift manager Dallas Ramsay said three people were taken to hospital by ambulance with moderate injuries including one person who had been trapped.
The road was cleared at about 12.45pm, but an NZTA spokeswoman said it should not take too much time for the traffic to clear and this was often helped by fine weather.
