Mororway traffic has ground to a halt following a crash involving two vehicles near Pokeno, south of Auckland, this afternoon.
The northbound SH1 was blocked after the 2pm incident between a car and a van.
"A couple of vehicles spun out of control on the wet surface and it is believed one of them hit a light pole," a police spokesman said.
"Traffic has been backing up but the road will be cleared as soon as possible."
An ambulance was called to the scene to attend to non-serious injuries.
