Traffic has returned to normal after a car fire on Auckland's Southern Motorway caused problems with rubberneckers earlier this morning.
NZTA has tweeted the fire is now out and the morning commute is back to the regular 45 minutes travelling time from Drury to Auckland City.
The vehicle, in a southbound lane near the Papakura exit, was burning fiercely when fire crews arrived at the scene.
NZTA tweeted earlier the blaze was distracting commuters who were rubbernecking past the incident.
