KEY POINTS:
A medical emergency had traffic backed-up around the Terrace Tunnel in central Wellington this afternoon.
The incident at 1.23pm was initially reported to police as a two-car collision.
Inspector Chris Tate, of Wellington police communications, said fire and ambulance crews attended the scene blocking the south-bound lane.
One person was thought to have had a seizure, he said.
By 4pm the scene was clear and traffic was flowing regularly.
