A lane on Auckland's Northwestern Motorway has reopened after a crash but traffic will still be backed up as rush hour nears.
The crash had earlier blocked the westbound lane of State Highway 16 before the Rosebank Road off-ramp.
The New Zealand Transport Agency warns traffic remains heavy in the area. Queues were backed up as far as St Lukes at the height of the congestion.
Motorists should still expect long delays on the motorway heading home from the city towards the west.
They advise motorists to consider taking an alternative route.
