The 'as is, where is' property market in Christchurch is having a positive impact on the neighbourhoods the homes are based in.
Following the earthquakes, a niche market emerged for damaged homes which haven't been repaired and are mostly uninsured. Ray White's Rae Manson says a lot of them are being snapped up by young tradies, who know what they're doing.
In the past two years there have been at least 50 such sales in Sumner, Redcliffs and Mt Pleasant.
