Hamilton firefighters have managed to contain a small blaze which set a tractor and its silage stack on fire.
Northern Fire Communications shift manager Daniel Nicholson said it was difficult to get the fire under control at first because of a shortage of water and foam.
The silage stack measured 20m by 40m, he said.
Four appliances, including a water tanker, were sent to the Te Pahu Rd, Ngahinapouri property at 8.30am.
"We just need water and foam, not because it's a big fire, more because there's a lack of water."
