A man has died after his tractor was hit by a train last night in Orari, South Canterbury.
The incident happened at the railway crossing on Hawke Rd at about 10.50pm.
A police spokesperson said the driver of the tractor received medical attention at the scene but was not able
to be revived.
The train driver was uninjured.
