The Tangle Community Dance Company mapped out Samuel Oates' journey over the Rimutaka Ranges as part of the launch of the children's book Over the Hill to Greytown at the Greytown Public Library on Saturday.
Children played the parts of the various characters Samuel Oates encounters in the book, written by Tania Atkinson and illustrated by Viv Walker.
Other children at the launch got dressed up as their favourite animal characters.
Tangle director Justine Eldred said the performance was part of an upcoming show, called When the poet dreamed an Angel, set in Greytown and running on November 9 and 10.
Tickets to the show, 7pm both nights at the Old Greytown Hospital on East St, can be purchased from Greytown library.
