KEY POINTS:
Toyota New Zealand is recalling all Camry model cars assembled between 2002 and 2006 because of a headlight problem.
The company said in a letter to owners that oxidation on the headlight contact points could cause the headlights to flicker or go off.
It said the likelihood was low and while there have been no reported cases in New Zealand, owners were told to get their cars back to a Toyota dealer "as soon as practicable" for free repairs.
In Australia nearly 145,000 Camry cars are being recalled for the same reason.
The recall applies to cars assembled between June, 2002 and May, 2006.
