All eyes are on the battle between Ford's Ranger and Toyota's Hilux for top selling commercial model for 2014 with the release of new vehicle sales figure for October.
The Motor Industry Association has launched sales figures to date with confirmation that 2014 will be one of the strongest years for new car sales since the organisation began collecting records.
MIA's CEO, David Crawford, said the tally was 106,582 new vehicle registrations, making last month the "strongest October since the MIA started collecting records in 1975".
"Not only are distributors of new vehicles closing in fast on the total new vehicles sales of 113,297 units for all of 2013, they are also on track to exceed the highest ever annual total for new registrations, which were 123,247 units in 1984."
