Toyota has recalled 1872 vehicles in New Zealand due to concern over brake fluid leaks.
The recall is to replace a brake master cylinder seal because there is a possibility that brake fluid could leak from the cylinder, causing the brake warning lamp to light up.
This is part of a global recall of 1.53 million affected vehicles. Toyota New Zealand national services manager Mark Rounthwaite said there was only a "very slim" chance the fault would involve cars sold here, but the firm was recalling them as a precaution.
Globally, there have been no reports of an accident caused by this malfunction.
The models recalled are the Toyota Highlander, Lexus GS300, IS250 and IS350, made between 2003 and 2006.
