Tourists fined for over-loading campervans

The drivers of three overloaded campervans have been fined after a road trip to Milford Sound.

Police say each of the three vans were carrying 12 people, twice the number the vehicles are designed to carry.

Police say the 240-kilometre return trip from Te Anau to Milford Sound is extremely steep and winding and the overloading was a recipe for disaster.
