The brother of missing Israeli tourist Liat Okin says the family may have to sell their home in Israel to help fund the search for his sister.
Ms Okin, 35, failed to return to Queenstown on March 27 after walking part of the Routeburn track in Fiordland.
Police called off an official search for Ms Okin on Monday but her brother, Itamar Tas has now set up a trust to fund a private search for her.
Mr Tas said the family would not give up until she was found.
"We don't believe in people just disappearing," he told The Press.
"It's not possible for us to forget about her."
The family would sell its house if it needed money to continue, he said.
Fifteen people and two dogs would search the area today with several helicopters on standby.
Mr Tas told the newspaper he had received a great deal of encouragement and support from Queenstown residents since arriving from Israel on April 10.
He had accepted an offer from farmer John Colhoun to use his Queenstown holiday home for the duration of their search.
