Tourist still battling bug

The South African tourist struck down by a deadly bug is still fighting the infection.

While Tayla Storm's condition has deteriorated since the weekend, her family say she continues to fight her battle against Staphylococcus Aureus which struck her down nearly three months ago.

The 38-year-old is in Auckland Hospital's palliative care ward.

Meanwhile, an appeal, launched to help her medical bills which are now over $300,000, has so far raised $6800.
